Bridgestone, the world’s largest rubber tire manufacturer, returns to the 88th Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland from March 8-18 with an impressive showcase of innovative mobility solutions as well as the latest automotive products.
New «tourist» tires Turanza T005 from Bridgestone
Bridgestone is proud to present its latest touring tyre: the Turanza T005, now available on the European market. Designed and built in Europe, the Bridgestone Turanza T005 delivers exceptional power and fuel economy combined with high mileage, giving drivers total control in challenging everyday situations, especially on rainy days.
Turanza T005 was created by car users. Bridgestone interviews thousands of drivers across Europe to find out what to look for in touring tyres, as well as what everyday challenges they face behind the wheel. By analyzing and understanding their needs and expectations, Bridgestone has successfully developed a tire that gives riders total control, especially when wet.

Also, to attract the attention of visitors, the Bridgestone booth will feature the “thyssenkrupp blue.cruiser”, an innovative solar vehicle developed by students from the University of Applied Sciences in Bochum (Germany) who won second place in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, which took place last October .
The solar-powered vehicle is equipped with Ecopia tires, developed with Bridgestone’s revolutionary «ologic» technology, designed to deliver high fuel economy without sacrificing traction safety. Larger tire diameters reduce rolling resistance, while narrower tread widths reduce air resistance, resulting in lower fuel consumption and associated carbon emissions.
In the World Solar Challenge, the teams drove 3,000 km in Australia in cars built by themselves and powered entirely by solar energy. In 2017, Bridgestone provided technical advice and provided Ecopia tires to 4 teams in Europe and 17 other teams worldwide.

You should see the latest Air Free Concept (AFC) tires at the Bridgestone booth. This revolutionary pneumatic design combines thermoplastic resin carrier spokes with a rubber tread to eliminate the need to maintain tire pressure and eliminate the risk of a puncture. All packaging is recyclable, leading to a more sustainable use of resources.

Also on display at Bridgestone will be the all-new Lexus LC500h luxury hybrid coupe, fitted with 20-inch Turanza T005 Run-Flat tires for increased safety and comfort.
